My first labrador was a yellow bitch rescued from a bad home. We called her Thurba. She had the most wonderful temperament but no training at all.She had never been out of the house or on a lead. Fortunately she had all her paper work so I was able to register her.
This started me off in obedience which she took to well starting to win her way through the classes and so I trained as a trainer taking my BIPDT.
Of course this led on to showing and then to breeding. A new experience for us both.
From her first litter I kept another yellow bitch Thurbajen's Sheer Fluke I pottered about open shows with her and she was a consistent winner. Then came a yellow dog from Fluke's second litter ,this was my Nathan. He started me off on my show career by winning minor puppy dog at his first championship show at just six months under Peggy Rae. The rest is history !
This small kennel is proud to have bred over thirty dogs with their stud book numbers!!!
It has been a marvellous time meeting new people and dogs, starting to judge and then to giving tickets both here and abroad .
I have been to judge in so many places and for some one who never wanted to fly I am now an accomplished traveller.
I must thank Katarina Ramberg who insisted I go and stay with her and Lars and judge in Sweden many years ago. They are now my very good friends.
My dogs are my constant companions and my poor husband always says he is last in line !!!
